Acrylic on Canvas 30" x 30"

Charlotte Cornett

When I go to my studio I know that I will be entering a special place.  I’m going to be a child again, to play, to learn, to" explore.  The possibilities are limitless."

Starting with random and spontaneous drawings, my abstract paintings starts to take shape. Layers of acrylic paints, pastel, inks, are then applied with both transparent and opaque colors. This create an active canvas surface with unlimited options at my disposal. Now is the time to delve into my own sensory experiences to complete the surfaces. These abstracts are better observed and felt that fully understood by the viewer.

The journey or process involved in producing these paintings is what draws me back in again and again."

Cornett's art education includes painting, printmaking, small metals, and computer graphics. Acrylics, oil and cold wax and encaustics are included in her new works. Her works are inspired by many travels and own life experiences which provide many new directions to pursue in her art.

Paintings by Cornett have been included in numerous juried exhibitions and galleries across the US and Europe. Her paintings have won top awards in many.
